Julian Marley wins first Best Reggae Album Grammy with ‘Colors of Royal’ at 2024 awards

Reggae singer Julian Marley and Greek-American singer and producer, Alexx Antaeus, on Sunday, January 4, walked away with the coveted Best Reggae Album prize at the 2024 Grammy Awards for their album, Colors of Royal.

This is the first Grammy Award for Julian Marley.

The award was accepted by Antaeus and other members of his team, amid the absence of Marley who is currently on tour in Australia.

In accepting the award, Anteaus dedicated the award to the people of Jamaica, whom he thanked for accepting him.

They went up against other nominees such as Born For Greatness by Buju Banton, Simma by Beenie Man, Cali Roots Riddim 2023 by Collie Buddz, and No Destroyer by Burning Spear.

Songs on the album include Jah Sees Them, Robbed, Made For Love, and Roll. The album was produced by Antaeus, Notnice, Mr Sonic, Sean Alaric, and Prince Productions.
