Kim Lee has been appointed as the new chief marketing officer (CMO) of Derrimon Trading Company.

Lee comes with a reputation as an award-winning marketer and strategic thinker, having established a track record of developing and executing innovative marketing and operating plans for popular B2B and B2C brands.

As CMO, she leads overall marketing development for the group which comprises Derrimon Corporate and Private label brands, Caribbean Flavours and Fragrances, Woodcats International, Select Grocers, Sampars, Food Savers NY and the recently acquired Spicy Hill Farms.

Her portfolio will include strategy, branding, advertising, communications, partnership marketing, and new product development.

Lee began her career working with local and international media houses including Florida-based WAVS RADIO 1170 AM and Award-Winning Literary Arts Magazine – Pan’Ku, before moving to Jamaica to work with the RJR Communications Group as part of the FAME FM team.

TRANSITIONED INTO MARKETING 19 YEARS AGO

Experiencing first-hand the dynamism of marketing, Lee transitioned into the field and has remained for the past 19 years. During this time, she has held senior marketing roles at Trade Winds Citrus Limited and Red Stripe/Diageo, LIME Jamaica, which later transitioned to FLOW Jamaica.

While at FLOW, Lee spearheaded the retail and street execution of advertising for Pre-paid mobile, Mobile data, Television and Broadband that re-established the company as a major contender for consumer services. Her tactical and sponsorship support also laid the foundation for FLOW copping 11 awards for multimedia campaigns in the international Telly Awards 2017 — the premier award for the best in TV and cable, digital and streaming, and non-broadcast productions.

Her chapter with telecoms came to a close with her in charge of the marketing for C&W Business and the successful launch of Flow Business in Jamaica.

Lee, a mother of two, possesses a Bachelors of Science in Communications with a minor in English from the Florida International University.

She is also an experienced voice actor whose talent has been a part of the Jamaican landscape since her days at FAME FM to the more recent FLOW business campaigns.
