The Marley family says it has sourced a stellar lineup of artistes for the annual Jo Mersa Marley birthday tribute concert, set to take place this Saturday (March 8) at the Bob Marley Museum in St Andrew.

This event will bring together the Marley musical dynasty alongside some of reggae and dancehall’s biggest stars for an unforgettable night of music and tribute.

At the forefront of the celebration is the Marley musical dynasty. The Marley Brothers—Stephen Marley, Julian Marley, Ky-mani Marley, and Damian ‘Jr Gong’ Marley—will take the stage, continuing the family’s rich tradition of reggae excellence.

Adding another generational layer to the night’s performances, the third-generation Marleys —Skip Marley, Yohan Marley, Mystic Marley, Soul-Rebel Marley, Shacia Payne, and Hymn Marley—will showcase their unique talents, further proving that the Marley musical legacy is alive and thriving.

The night will also feature a lineup of special guests who have made their own indelible marks on reggae and dancehall. Bounty Killer, Tarrus Riley, Spragga Benz, Jesse Royal, Bugle, Agent Sasco, Jah 9, Lila Ike, Ras I, Christopher Ellis, Jaz Elise, Jemere Morgan, Black Am I, Amlak Redsquare, and Karbon are all confirmed to bring their signature sounds and high-energy performances to the celebration.

Guiding the night’s proceedings will be renowned broadcaster Ron Muschette, serving as the event’s official MC. Music by DJ Rasarella will keep the energy high throughout the night.

The birthday celebration is more than just a concert—it’s a heartfelt gathering of artists, family, and fans honouring the life and legacy of Jo Mersa Marley, who passed away in December 2022.

As the grandson of music legends Bob and Rita Marley and son of Stephen Marley, Jo Mersa was known for seamlessly blending traditional reggae with contemporary influences, crafting a sound that resonated with both longtime reggae enthusiasts and a new generation of listeners.

This year’s staging at the Bob Marley Museum is especially significant, as it brings the celebration to the heart of Kingston, a city deeply intertwined with the history of reggae music. With an all-star lineup and a venue steeped in musical heritage, fans can expect an unforgettable night of celebration, tributes, and unity through music.

The event is supported by Ghetto Youths International, Tuff Gong International, Marley Natural, and Irie FM, among others.
