MJ has officially hung up the sneakers for good.

Just before the 2025–26 NBA season tipped off, Michael Jordan revealed that he hasn’t played basketball in years, not even for fun at a local gym or in his driveway. The only recent exception? A single free throw during last month’s Ryder Cup, when a homeowner convinced him to shoot in front of his grandkids. True to form, MJ sank it.

Now 62, Jordan admitted he still loves the game deeply but joked that it’s safer for him to talk about basketball than to risk an Achilles tear trying to relive it. Even though he’s done playing, fans will see more of him around the league this season just not in sneakers or soaring above the rim.
