
Montego Bay United have regained the lead atop the Wray and Nephew Jamaica Premier League with a 2-1 win over Treasure Beach FC at the St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) on Sunday.
Dwight Merrick and Deonjay Brown scored for Montego Bay United as they secured their ninth win from 15 games with 29 points.
Tommy Lawrence replied for Treasure Beach but could not stop the struggling club from being defeated for the sixth time in 12 games. They sit in the second relegation spot in 13th position with 12 points.
Meanwhile, previous leaders Racing United drew their third consecutive game, battling to a 0-0 draw with Waterhouse FC and slipped to second spot on 28 points. Waterhouse are seventh on 16 points, two adrift of the last playoff spot held by Tivoli Gardens on 18 points.
In the second game at Drewsland, in-form Molynes United held Caribbean champions Mount Pleasant to 0-0 draw. Molynes United remained in eighth spot on 16 points while Mount Pleasant stayed in fourth on 23 points with three games in hand.
At the Turners Ground in Clarendon, home team Phoenix Chapelton Maroons clipped former champion Harbour View 2-1. Zaine Pinnock gave them a second-minute lead, but Rohan Brown pulled Harbour View level in the 65th minute.
The stage was set for the promising Mona High striker Sean Leighton to find the winner, outpacing the backline before slotting home in the 85th minute.
Phoenix Chapelton Maroons are up to ninth spot on 15 points, while Harbour View are left in 11th spot with 14 points.
There will be two games on Monday, as sixth-placed Tivoli Gardens on 18 points host third-placed Portmore on 25 points at the Edward Seaga Stadium at 3:00 pm. Then 12th-placed Arnett Gardens on 13 points tackle fifth-placed Cavalier on 22 points at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex starting at 7:30 pm.
