The Miami-based National Hurricane Center (NHC) slightly raised development chances for a potential weather disturbance today (November 13) as it renews attempts to coalesce in the southwest Caribbean Sea.

The NHC, in its tropical weather outlook, maintains that a broad area of low pressure is likely to form in a few days.

“Gradual development is possible thereafter, and a tropical depression could form late this week while the system drifts northeastward across the western and central portions of the Caribbean Sea,” the meteorological forecast advised.

Formation chances, while remaining at “medium” likelihood, have increased to 60 per cent over the next seven days.

Jamaica is still largely anticipated to feel impacts from this system, with Vince being the next available name in the 2023 North Atlantic Hurricane Season.

Stay tuned for further updates.
