Nintendo on Tuesday (June 18), announced the latest instalment in ‘The Legend of Zelda‘ video game franchise.

The new game, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, is an upcoming action-adventure game for Nintendo Switch, that switches up everything Zelda fans are used to. Instead of playing as the character Link, players are forced to play as the damsel turned heroine, Princess Zelda.

In this edition, the world of Hyrule is once again under threat, but this time while Link was rescuing Zelda, he disappeared after being sucked into a mysterious rift. Since the incident, more people have been disappearing as more mysterious rifts appear and without Link, it’s up to Zelda to solve the mystery and save her people.

Echoes of Wisdom discards the typical playstyle of using a warrior and his weapons and gadgets and introduces all-new gameplay styles using Zelda’s skills with her magical ‘tri rod.’ The game focuses on the new game mechanic “echo” which lets her duplicate random objects and monsters throughout the game to fight alongside her and solve puzzles.
