Nesta ‘Bigga Crime’ Morris, one of the most wanted men in Jamaica, has been shot and killed during an intelligence-led operation by the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF).
Reports from the JCF are that Morris was killed yesterday (February 8) by security forces in Longville Park, Clarendon. According to Deputy Police Commissioner Fitz Bailey, Morris was on the most wanted list for two years.
Morris was wanted for a double murder, shooting with intent, illegal possession of firearm and illegal possession of ammunition in the Bull Bay area.
“And, despite many requests from the police for him to turn himself in, he actually did not, and several operations were mounted against him that were unsuccessful,” Bailey said.
The news of his death comes more than two months after the Jamaica Anti-Gang Task Force (JAGTF) raided one of Morris’ hideouts in the 11 Miles area of St Thomas. Three firearms and 120 rounds of assorted ammunition were found, along with items such as cellular phones, counterfeit US currency, bank cards and food items.
“Bigga Crime rained terror on the citizens within the 11 Miles, Bull Bay area and its environment, killing and maiming several people,” said Bailey.
“I think it is a victory for the people of those communities, and it is a great relief that he can no longer perpetrate those acts of violence against them,” he added.
