Elaine Thompson-Herah broke the Olympic record in the 100m to defend her title first won five years ago in Rio, as Jamaica recorded a clean sweep of the event in Tokyo a short while ago.
With favourite Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce finishing second in 10.74, it was her second time participating in a Jamaican clean sweep of the event, following her gold medal winning performance in Beijing 2008.
Shericka Jackson took the bronze in a personal best 10.76.
Thompson-Herah’s Olympic record time has been beaten only by Florence Griffith-Joyner’s 1988 world record of 10.49 – though the American also ran a 10.61.
