Police say Paulwell’s 10-month-old daughter, her mother killed; four suspects charged

Four persons have been charged in connection with the disappearance of Member of Parliament for Kingston Eastern and Port Royal Phillip Paulwell’s daughter and her mother.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Fitz Bailey, who gave an update on the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of Toshyna Patterson and her 10-month-old daughter Sarayah on Friday, October 13, confirmed that the four persons who were arrested by the police have been charged.

“As the investigation into the disappearance of Toshyna Patterson and her 10-month-old child from their home at 3 Gilmore Drive in Kingston 20 on Saturday, September 9, 2023, I wish to inform the public that we are now satisfied by the overwhelming evidence secured that both Toshyna Patterson and her 10-month-old baby Sarayah were brutally murdered and their bodies disposed of. It is one of the most painful investigations for the team since recent times, however, the team of investigators continues to be professional and remain focused,” he said.

They are 34-year-old Leoda Bradshaw, a long-time partner of Paulwell and petty officer in the United States Navy; 30-year-old Roland Lloyd Balford, an assistant graphic designer of 67 Commission Road in Kingston 2; Rushane Miller, 29-year-old AC technician of 1 B Camperdown Road, Kingston 16; and Richard Brown, otherwise known as ‘Richie’ or ‘Gorilla’, a 31-year-old graphic designer of 2 Campden Road in Kingston 16.

Bradshaw was slapped with two counts of conspiracy to murder, two counts of conspiracy to kidnapping, two counts of kidnapping and two counts of murder.

While Balford, Miller, and Brown were each charged with two counts of conspiracy to murder, two counts of conspiracy to kidnapping, and misprison of felony.

The four individuals are set to appear in the Home Circuit Court. A court date has not yet been announced.
