Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz finished runners-up for the third time at the Unity Cup after they were beaten 0-3 by Nigeria at the Valley, London, on Saturday.

Jamaica, which painfully missed out on the FIFA World Cup this Summer, experimented with a young team but was no match for a Nigerian team that surprisingly also missed out on qualification for the World Cup.

Alhassan Yusuf netted a brace for the Super Eagles, scoring in the second and 90+1 minutes, while Terem Moffi netted in the 59th minute for a comprehensive win. It was Nigeria’s fourth consecutive win in the Unity Cup, having also beaten Jamaica in 2022 and 2025.

Yusuf opened the scoring, turning home a palmed effort by Reggae Boyz’ goalkeeper Coniah Boyce-Clarke, who failed to deal with a long throw-in. Moffi nodded home Nigeria’s second from a Femi Azeez cross.

Yusuf then put the icing on the cake, collecting a ball from Phil Otele and firing beyond the Jamaican goalkeeper for an emphatic victory.
