It was a massacre at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground as Jamaica’s Reggae Girlz destroyed Dominica 18-0 in the opening Group B game of the 2025–2026 CONCACAF Women’s World Cup Qualifiers on Saturday (November 29).
Jamaica recorded its biggest margin of victory in football at the senior level, surpassing its 14-0 mauling of St Lucia in 2014. Jamaica’s biggest win was recorded by the Under-20 Reggae Girlz, which demolished Grenada 21-0 in 2002.
Konya Plummer opened the floodgate in the second minute as the Reggae Girlz raced to 4-0 in the ninth minute as Khadija Shaw (fourth minute, 39th, 43rd) and Kalyssa Van Zanten (seventh, 21st, 26th) registered first-half three-timers as the half ended 10-0.
Shaw’s triple strike has taken her goal tally to 60 from 45 games, the most by any Jamaican male or female.
Jody Brown, who scored twice in the first half, completed her hat-trick in the second half, netting in the ninth, 35th and 82nd minutes.
The Reggae Girlz scored seven goals in the last 11 minutes as Natasha Thomas bagged a brace in the 86th and 88th minutes. The other scorers were Atlanta Primus (12th), Deneisha Blackwood (51st and 89th), Shaneil Buckley (81st and 90+2) and Shania Hayles (90+1) completed the rout.
There were nine different scorers for Jamaica as head coach Hugh Busby pulled Shaw in the 60th minute, wisely giving the Manchester City star well-needed rest as the result was decided early.
The Reggae Girlz will next play Nicaragua on March 2, 2026, in Managua as they continue their hunt for their third consecutive appearance at the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Jamaica lead Group B with three points but by goal difference over Nicaragua, which defeated Antigua and Barbuda 4-0.
