Barbados songstress Rihanna hasn’t posted on Facebook or Instagram since March 26, so it was up to the paparazzi to get her thoughts on the April 9 eruption of the La Soufriere volcano which has displaced thousands of people in St Vincent and the Grenadines but also impacted her nearby homeland.

The singer, who was out for dinner with her boyfriend, rapper ASAP Rocky, was asked for her thoughts on the tragic events that continue to unfold up to today.

“That’s really sad,” Rihanna lamented as she was hurriedly escorted from her car to the restaurant’s door. “Actually, it’s f…ed up.”

WATER SHORTAGES

Just before disappearing inside, she added: “But you know Mother Nature … you can’t fight Mother Nature.”

Short, to the point, and well said, Riri.

As St Vincent continued to be rocked by eruptions from the La Soufriere volcano throughout the week , leaders warned of shortages of water and the potential need for hundreds of millions of dollars to rebuild. Thousands have also had to be evacuated, seeking shelter with Caribbean neighbours.

Though 190 miles of Caribbean Sea away from St Vincent, Barbados has not escaped the volcano’s fury as it has been blanketed by a thick layer of ash and choking smoke.
