Rockstar Games, video game developer for popular titles such as the Grand Theft Auto series, Red Dead series, Midnight Club series, and Max Payne has confirmed it fell victim to hacking via its internal servers over the weekend.

The hackers managed to steal over 3GB worth of Grand Theft Auto footage, information and source code and leaked Grand Theft Auto 6, an upcoming sequel to Grand Theft Auto 5, one of the best-selling games of all time.

Rockstar Games delivered an official statement which confirmed the validity of the hack.
