… To lead newly wholly owned Sagicor subsidiary

Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited has named Omar Brown, former Sagicor Bank head of treasury, the new chief executive officer (CEO) of Alliance Financial Services Limited (AFSL) – a wholly owned subsidiary of the financial conglomerate.

Christopher Zacca, president and CEO of the Group, noted that Brown is an accomplished professional with over 20 years’ experience in the financial services sector, with 10 of those years at the senior management and executive level.

“The Board of Directors of Sagicor Group Jamaica have every confidence in Omar in this role, given his exceptional track record, skillsets, industry experience and qualifications,” Zacca added.

“As he takes on this new role to lead the strategic direction of Alliance Financial Services, we know that he will continue to be a tremendous asset to the Group.”

In his comments, Brown said: “It is a pleasure and an honour to take on this role as CEO for AFSL. I am looking forward to working with and leading the amazing and dynamic team and sub-agent network at Alliance. We are ready and reenergised to serve our clients, and I am truly excited for the roll-out of the ‘new Alliance’ under the Sagicor Group.”

Brown also shared that, under his leadership, the push to increase AFSL’s market share and sub-agent network will be bullish.

“Our strategy will be heavily focused on increasing our footprint across the island, with a view to becoming the number 1 remittance agency in the market,” said Brown.

Brown’s career at Sagicor started in 2003 when he joined Pan Caribbean Merchant Bank as a front desk clerk. From there, his growth in the company included several positions in treasury and operations until his most recent position as vice president -treasury.

Brown holds a Bachelor of Science in Banking and Finance from the University of the West Indies and is also a CFA Charter holder. He is director of Sagicor Select Funds, treasurer for Chain of Hope Jamaica and is also a member of the CFA Society of Jamaica.
