“The love of my life,” said Rakim Athelaston Mayers, best known as A$AP Rocky, as he opened up about his relationship with Rihanna earlier this evening (May 19) during an interview with monthly men’s magazine, GQ.

The Praise the Lord singer said his goal at this stage in his life is to embrace change, especially in relation to love.

Reportedly, Rocky knows he probably shouldn’t be talking about his relationship with the triple-threat pop star who has gained mega success through music, fashion and her beauty line.

Does she feel the same for him? Should he be talking about her publicly?
Well, he doesn’t care.

According to GQ, the exact timeline of their relationship is uncertain, and Rocky won’t divulge many details.

However, rumours about their status began circulating as early as 2013, when Rocky opened for Rihanna’s Diamonds World Tour.

Their partnership on the tour sent tongues wagging and fingers typing on social media as the artistes’ fans began speaking their relationship into existence.

They’ve both got culture-shifting side hustles.

They’re both fashion icons.

Their ‘coming out’ feels predestined.

For Rocky, being in a relationship is beneficial for him, as he was always getting caught up in controversy around the world.

Hopefully, this relationship will give him the stability he needs.

When asked about what being in a relationship feels like, he said, without hesitation: “So much better.”

He continued: “So much better when you got the one. She amounts to probably, like, a million of the other ones.

“I think when you know, you know. She’s the one.”

Rihanna has seemed to imprint on him in a very special way.

Around Christmas 2020, Rocky was photographed with Rihanna in Barbados.

Fun fact: Rocky’s father emigrated from Barbados to the US.

Therefore, imagine his sense of belonging.

“It was like a homecoming thing, it was crazy,” he said.

“I always imagined what it would be like for my dad, before he came to America. And I got to visit those places, and believe it or not, there was something nostalgic about it. It was foreign but familiar.”

Things seem pretty heated between the power couple.

“God blessed me with a lot, so I’m working with that, and that’s enough to make some f%$$# fire.”

GQ further questioned him about whether he was ready to become a dad.

Rocky’s response: “If that’s in my destiny, absolutely.”

He added: “I think I’d be an incredible, remarkably, overall amazing dad. I would have a very fly child. Very.”

Currently Rocky is set to release a new music project titled All Smiles, which is already 90 per cent complete.

All Smiles, he said, is a ‘ghetto love tale’.

Rocky teased his fans by letting them know its ‘way more mature’ than his previous works.

Pointing out that Rihanna plays an extremely active, important role in his life, he said he trusted her with his unreleased music for feedback.

“I think it’s important to have somebody that you can bounce those creative juices and ideas off of,” he said, assuring that Rihanna has “absolutely” influenced the new music.

“It’s just a different point of view.”
