Fresh from supporting the successful Initial Public Offer (IPO) of Woodcats International, business advisory firm Simple Advisory Limited(SAL) is positioning itself to play a stronger role in helping Jamaican companies access capital.
SAL is expanding its market presence and is increasingly being engaged by Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) seeking financing for expansion, capital expenditure, acquisitions, and debt restructuring.
Woodcats retained SAL as Special Consultant for its IPO. Acting as an independent advisor, SAL ensured an objective and efficient capital raise process that attracted over 9,000 investors and achieved full subscription within the target period.
Woodcats General Manager, Peter Douglas, was more than pleased with SAL’s performance, saying, “Working with SAL made the fundraising process seamless. SAL allowed us the latitude to continue focusing on the operations of Woodcats while undergoing this pivotal fund raise.”
SAL provided strategic oversight across valuation, prospectus development, public relations, and transaction timing. The firm also coordinated closely with key stakeholders, including attorneys, marketing partners, and brokers, to ensure a successful outcome.
What’s next and exciting for SAL?
For Managing Partner, Nicholas Dawson, “demand for strategic advisory services, particularly those involving artificial intelligence integration, continues to grow. SAL believes AI will play a central role in the future of business by improving efficiency and streamlining operations.”
SAL offers comprehensive business reviews to identify operational gaps where AI-driven solutions can create measurable value, including in sales, receivables, accounting, and other core functions.
SAL remains optimistic about business growth in Jamaica and the wider region and is committed to leveraging technology as a driver of innovation, efficiency, and sustainable growth.
SAL was founded in late 2022 by three of Jamaica’s young professionals: former director of investment banking at Scotia Bank Jamaica, Nicholas Dawson; Chris Yeung, entrepreneur and advisor at HoneyBun Foundation and a mentor for the Junior Stock Market; and Brandon Hugh, a Chartered Professional Accountant.
