Calypso and Soca veteran Red Plastic Bag (RPB), has released a new single on Sunday (June 18), in time for the carnival and Crop Over season in the Eastern Caribbean.

The song, I Can’t Imagine is about the vibrance and joy music brings to life and more specifically the pervasive energy of soca music. In the song, he questions what happy moments, partying and dancing would even look like and that he cannot imagine it because of how endemic soca music is to his culture in Barbados.

Check out the song below:

Red Plastic Bag (RPB), given the name Stedson Wiltshire, is a Barbadian calypsonian and soca artiste who has been performing since 1982. His music generally combines the sounds of reggae with soca and gives a unique comedic perspective on social situations.

His biggest hit, Ragga Ragga in 1995, was commentary on people’s enjoyment of Jamaican dub music at the time despite their inability to understand the lyrics.
