The annual Grammy Awards Show has been postponed indefinitely due to the uncertainty surrounding the Omicron variant of COVID-19, the Recording Academy and CBS said today (January 5).
“We look forward to celebrating Music’s Biggest Night on a future date, which will be announced soon,” read a statement from the two entities.
The music awards show was set to be held on January 31.

Among the many artistes likely to be left disappointed by news of the postponement are Jamaican dancehall artiste Spice, who has been celebrating her first ever Grammy nomination for her album 10.
Spice is up for a Grammy in the Best Reggae Album category where she will be competing against fellow Jamaicans Etana with Pamoja, Sean Paul with his album Live N Livin, Jesse Royal with his project Royal, Gramps Morgan with Positive Vibration, and American reggae band SOJA with Beauty in the Silence.
