Defending champion Jannik Sinner reached the semi-final with a comfortable 6-3 6-2 6-1 win over Alex de Minaur, with the Italian looking fully recovered from the illness which had hampered him in his previous match with Holger Rune.
The top seed will now meet American 21st seed Ben Shelton for a place in the final.
0834 SONEGO FALLS SHORT AGAINST SHELTON
Shelton edged Sonego 6-4 7-5 4-6 7-6(4) after a nearly four-hour battle on Rod Laver Arena to advance to his first semi-final at Melbourne Park.
Up next for Shelton, who was a semi-finalist at the 2023 U.S. Open, is either defending champion Jannik Sinner or home favourite Alex de Minaur.

Swiatek continued her bid for a first crown at Melbourne Park as the Polish second seed stormed to a 6-1 6-2 victory over Navarro.
While the first set was one-way traffic, the second was level at 2-2 before former world number one Swiatek pulled away to seal the win in just under 90 minutes.

Keys battled from a set down to beat Svitolina 3-6 6-3 6-4 and advance to the semi-finals for the third time at Melbourne Park.
