A tropical wave approaching Jamaica. The tropical wave is expected to move across the island today, and is expected to merge with a broad area of low pressure southwest of Jamaica thereafter.

The area of disturbed weather associated with this system is projected to bring periods of showers, thunderstorms, and strong gusty winds to most parishes, especially southern parishes, beginning this afternoon through Friday morning.
