Tributes have been rolling in from prominent persons in the entertainment industry following the death of Joseph ‘Jo Mersa’ Marley, the son of Stephen Marley and grandson of reggae legend Bob Marley.

The news of his death was announced on Boxing Day (December 27), sending the reggae community and supporters of the Marley family into a state of shock.

Reports are that the 31-year-old, who resides in the United States, was found unresponsive in his car, reportedly dying as a result of an asthma attack.

As the Marley family mourns his untimely death, Jamaicans have gathered to extend their condolences and support to the family on social media.

Among those who extended their condolences is Jamaican singer Freddie McGregor, who recently suffered a stroke and is recovering.

“My deepest sympathy goes out to Stephen Marley and the Marley family for the loss of his son Joseph ‘Jo Mersa’ Marley who passed away. It’s quite sad. No parent should ever have to bury their child,” wrote the Big Ship artiste.

“I’m sending love and prayers and hope you all can find strength during this difficult time. Rest in peace young King,” he continued.

Several other entertainers shared tributes on Instagram, including Jesse Royal, Shaggy, Sean Paul, Beres Hammond, Capleton and I-Octane.
