The Jamaican police today (February 5) arrested and charged two Haitians with illegal entry, following their arrival into the island last month.

They are 40-year-old Ronald Georges, a carpenter and Jean Paul, 34, an artiste and construction worker, both of Port-au-Prince, Haiti. The police report that they entered Jamaica illegally on January 19.

They were accosted by the police and while being questioned by the lawmen, it was revealed that they did not enter the island through any of the official ports and had no records of their entry.

They were subsequently arrested and charged. A court date is being finalised for their appearance to answer the charge.
