Tyson Fury is preparing to return to the ring after revealing that a tragic road accident involving people close to rival Anthony Joshua helped spark his decision to fight again.
Fury is set to make his comeback on April 11, ending a 15-month break from boxing when he faces Russian-born heavyweight Arslanbek Makhmudov at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The former two-time heavyweight champion stepped away from the sport after back-to-back defeats to Oleksandr Usyk at the end of 2024 and spent a full year out of action before announcing his return in early January. His decision came shortly after Joshua was involved in a fatal car crash in Nigeria that claimed the lives of his close friends Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele.
A clash between Fury and Joshua remains on hold for now, but Fury admitted the incident served as a wake up call that pushed him toward one more run in the heavyweight division.
