Jamaica’s U-17 Reggae Girlz kicked off the Group E CONCACAF Women’s U-17 Qualifiers with a 6-0 thrashing of St Kitts and Nevis in Nicaragua on Thursday.

Both Jamaica and Nicaragua are on three points but the Young Reggae Girlz sit atop based on a superior goal as Nicaragua had defeated St Kitts 4-0 on Tuesday.

Kiana Wilson scored a hattrick for Jamaica in the fourth, 58th and 61st minutes. Briana Turner (33), Ella Provost-Heron (47) and Shauntai Pryce (73) completed the rout.

Jamaica just need a point on Saturday against Nicaragua to secure qualification to the CONCACAF U-17 Women’s Final Round.

But that won’t be an easy task against the home team backed by the partisan home supporters.

The Reggae Girlz are making their seventh participation in the qualifiers. Jamaica’s best result was in 2013 when they hosted the tournament and finished fourth.

The 2025 Concacaf U-17 Women’s Qualifiers will kick off on January 27 with a new two-round format to determine which four national teams will represent the region at the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

This is the ninth edition of the tournament, the first with a two-round format, with the winners of the six groups and the two best-second place finishers in Round One advancing to the Final Round, joining the four top-ranked teams in the region.
