Jamaican distributor Newport Mills Limited, makers of Nutramix, says in light of the ongoing invasion of Ukraine, it will be offloading increased production costs to consumers, mostly farmers, come Monday (March 14).
Our Today‘s newsroom was told by a Newport Mills representative when contacted on Friday that the price increase will cover all Nutramix products excluding dog and puppy feeds.
Nutramix, in its public advisory yesterday, explained that it has been rocked by “historically high raw material costs”, which the company added directly affected the price of animal feed and food.
“While we continue our efforts to explore every option to keep feed prices accessible and reasonably priced, we are forced to adjust the prices of our feed,” stated Nutramix.
It is expected that Jamaican meat consumers will also feel the domino effects of the Nutramix price hike, as farmers lament the ever-rising costs associated with animal rearing.

“Dear farmers,
As the conflict in Eastern Europe develops, coupled with the ongoing increase on agricultural commodities, we are witnessing historically high raw material costs which directly affects the price of feed and food.
While we continue our efforts to explore every option to keep feed prices accessible and reasonably priced, we are forced to adjust the prices of our feed.
Therefore, farmers can expect a price increase effective March 14, 2022.
As always, we will continue to support our farmers during these challenging times, and the Nutramix team is available to provide more information on this ongoing issue.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
Your team at Nutramix.”
