Dreams of becoming a jet-setting international model may come true for Jamaican females and males with global fashion potential as SAINT launches its biggest-ever scouting mission with a virtual model search that got underway this week.
Engineered by SAINT CEO Deiwght Peters, who was hailed by no less than American Vogue as ‘The Man behind Jamaica’s Model’s Wave’, the Faces of Summer virtual model search is eyeing model prospects between the ages of 15 to 25 years old to make their mark in the glamorous and lucrative fashion industry.
“I’m looking to discover Jamaica’s next male and female supermodel to not just debut, but also conquer the world’s fashion capitals,” Peters matter-of-factly tells Our Today of his end-goal for the just-launched search.
“The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted SAINT’s usual calendar of year-long model scouting, plus with the government’s tightened measures on group gatherings with limited numbers, we figured the time was right to restructure and reimagine how we do our searches,” he explained.
The Midas-touch model-maker who has successfully launched SAINT models Haytal Blackwood and Lawrence on the runway for Gucci, Tevin Steele for Saint Laurent, Naki Depass for Burberry, and Christine Willis for Balenciaga, disclosed that the extensive model search will span the remaining weeks of the summer, and will be done exclusively through SAINT’s social media channels.
“The SAINT search is being only done on Instagram and WhatsApp, and we are particularly seeking females aged 15 to 23 who are 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet 1 inch in height while males are required to be between 16 and 25 years old and 6 feet 1 inch to 6 feet 4 inches tall,” Peters noted. The age and height requirements are typical industry standards for international models working in the industry.
Revelling in the continued success of his ever-growing model camp which includes recent high-profile turns by SAINT supermodel Tami Williams starring in Ralph Lauren’s Spring/Summer 2021 global advertising campaign and closing the much-celebrated Pyer Moss haute couture show in New York as well as SAINT’s Nigerian star Tomiwa strutting in Paris for Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Chloe and Longchamp, Peters is eager to find the next generation of fashion stars.
“Jamaica is infinitely blessed with both natural and physical beauty, and as SAINT celebrates 21 years of international model breakthroughs,” Peters told Our Today, adding, “The time is now opportune to charge forward with our mission of changing lives and expanding horizons for that young Jamaican man or woman to realise their model ambitions on a global scale.”
Interested model talents can direct message @saintmodelsja or @deiwghtpeters or Whatsapp 876-397-5859 or 876-822-8376. Model prospects are being asked to submit no make-up photos of their side and full-face profiles along with full-body images taken in jeans and a T-shirt.
