StarApple AI and Orbital Brand Science partnered with the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) at The University of the West Indies (UWI) Mona, for Administrative Professionals Day on Wednesday, April 24, in Kingston.

Together, they hosted a digital scavenger hunt that blended artificial intelligence with real-world exploration.

Participants deciphered clues and tackled tasks that took them on a journey through the faculty’s landmarks and other lesser-known spots.

Participants engaged in an AI-generated scavenger hunt, where each team used smartphones to scan QR codes that led to challenges rooted in various physical locations around the campus. This format leveraged technology to enhance problem-solving, creativity, and teamwork.

Kathlene Gardner, who was also a part of the team that placed 3rd overall, happily accepts her gift for most active participant in the Scavenger Hunt which was done in collaboration with the Faculty of Science and Technology for Administrative Professionals Day held on April 24, 2024 at the faculty on the UWI Mona Campus.

The scavenger hunt was structured to encourage teams to collaborate effectively, using the AI-driven tasks as a catalyst for team building and spirited competition.

Prizes, including cash awards, were distributed to the winning teams, amplifying the excitement of the event without overshadowing its core educational and collaborative objectives.

Akila Burrell, Head of Administration at StarApple AI, said, “Partnering with the Faculty of Science and Technology provided an excellent opportunity to engage with the administrative staff in a meaningful way, reinforcing the crucial role they play in our economy.”

The feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, reflecting the success of integrating technology with physical team-building activities.

Kathlene Gardner, whose team placed third, not only celebrated a team victory but also received an individual reward for being the most active participant, highlighting the individual contributions within the broader team effort.

“StarApple AI is committed to exploring new, innovative avenues for education and community engagement,” Burrell added.
