“Persons who sign up for a GK ONE mobile wallet using my referral code will receive 25O GK value rewards points redeemable for Amazon gift cards, gas vouchers and more. A donation of $250 will also be made to the GK Campus Connect Food Bank.”

The GraceKennedy Foundation established the GK Campus Connect Food Bank in response to food insecurity issues facing university students.

The Food Bank currently provides monthly support to students attending The University of the West Indies, the University of Technology and the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts.

It is funded by donations from GraceKennedy companies, corporate partners, and individual donors.

It is manned by a full-time food bank coordinator and student volunteers who are GraceKennedy Foundation scholarship recipients.

According to the company, “GraceKennedy’s effort to support students in a multifaceted way at the tertiary level has always been a priority.”

One of the reasons cited by GraceKennedy for starting the initiative is that many tertiary students experience difficulty in accessing healthy meals.

“Many students are hardpressed to access healthy, nutritious meals as any financial assistance they receive is geared towards covering tuition, books, and other education-related expenses.”

Sadly, many students face hunger on a daily basis. This initiative addresses one of the critical issues affecting tertiary level students – food insecurity.

The mission for the GK Foundation initiative is to assist students grow and succeed.

“Our help university students thrive and succeed by creating more equitable access to nutritious food.”
