Roots reggae artist Alborosie returns with Come My Way, a soulful new single and the first release from his forthcoming tenth studio album.
The track arrives via VP/Greensleeves Records, accompanied by a new music video shot in Canoa Quebrada, Ceará, Brazil.
Come My Way reworks one of the most iconic riddims in Jamaican music first heard on Jacob Miller’s1974 song Baby I Love You So and immortalised in its dub counterpart, King Tubby Meets the Rockers Uptown. The latter track, produced by Augustus Pablo and featuring his signature melodica, Aston ‘Family Man’ Barrett on bass, and Lloyd ‘Tin Leg’ Adams on drums, was the first dub ever released as an A-side in the UK and was later ranked #266 on Rolling Stone’s list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.
The riddim’s legacy stretches far beyond reggae fandom. It achieved cult status in the gaming world after being featured on K-JAH West, the fictional reggae radio station in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, exposing a new generation to foundational dub sounds.

Alborosie builds on the riddim’s foundation with clear reverence. Come My Way is a slow-burning lovers’ roots cut, rich with layered harmonies and authentic instrumentation. It also draws inspiration from Dawn Penn’s Night And Day—which shares the same Augustus Pablo riddim—and follows in the lineage of Chronixx’s Alpha and Omega, another standout reinterpretation of the original.
The single follows a string of major milestones for Alborosie, a MOBO Award winner, including his breakout hit Kingston Town, which recently surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify—placing it among a select group of reggae tracks to reach that mark.
Come My Way follows 2023’s Destiny, a 14-track album featuring collaborations with Buju Banton, Kabaka Pyramid, and Jaz Elise. He is also set to appear on the upcoming deluxe edition of Seun Kuti’s album, Heavier Yet (Lays the Crownless Head).
Fresh off a tour of Africa, with stops in Kenya and Ethiopia, Alborosie and his band, Shengen Clan, will hit the road this spring and summer for shows across Europe and the US, including a debut performance in Malta and a return to Germany’s Summerjam Festival. Full dates below.
