British wildcard Arthur Fery is one win away from the Wimbledon final after producing the biggest victory of his career against world number 10 Flavio Cobolli.

The world number 114 defeated the French Open runner-up 6-4, 7-6 (7-4), 6-0 at the All England Club earlier today.

Before this year’s tournament, Fery had never advanced beyond the second round of a Grand Slam. Now, the 23-year-old has become the first men’s wildcard in 25 years to reach the Wimbledon semifinals.

The only other men’s wildcard to reach the Wimbledon semifinals was Goran Ivanisevic, who went on to lift the trophy.
