Editor-in-chief of British Vogue, Edward Enninful has been promoted to editorial director of all of Vogue’s European titles.
The announcement was made yesterday.
Across the world, Vogue is regarded as the bible of style and fashion. Enninful enjoys a reputation of being one of the best fashion editors in the world and has elevated British Vogue (which he has headed since 2017) to another level.
Many in the fashion industry see him as the successor to the esteemed Anna Wintour who is the editor-in-chief of U.S. Vogue.

She has now been promoted to Conde Nast’s chief content officer and Vogue’s global editorial director. Conde Nast is the publisher and parent company of Vogue.
Among the titles that Enninful will now preside over are, Vogue Spain, France, Italy and Germany. He will be a major force at Conde Nast and his star is set to rise further.
He continues to have a distinguished career having been the creative driving force behind a number of reputable style magazines. At just 18 he was appointed as fashion director of the UK’s i-D magazine. He transformed W magazine as creative fashion editor, helping to expand its readership.
Born in Ghana, Enninful, now 48, has continually called for more diversity in fashion magazines and has been a champion for a new generation of black models and photographers.
He was made an officer of the Order of the British Empire in 2016 for his services to diversity in the fashion industry.
“I think fashion can tell a story about celebrating difference, can talk about how different people are, how diverse people are… .”

Earlier this year, Time magazine lauded him as the most important Black man in the global fashion world.
Raised in Ladbroke Grove, London, Enninful earned a degree at prestigious Goldsmiths while still working as a model. He was named the sixth most powerful Black man in Britain in the 2020 Powerlist ranking.
Enninful once said: “My mother and father just taught me the basics: to be really kind, to really listen to people. I have never been one to put on airs and graces.”
On the role fashion plays in society, Enninful said: “I think fashion can tell a story about celebrating difference, can talk about how different people are, how diverse people are – and for me, that’s where fashion really succeeds, when it tackles things to do with the world we live in.
“My ‘Vogue’ is about being inclusive, it’s about diversity. Showing different women, different body shapes, different races, class. To be tackling gender.”
