Entertainer Jah Cure is facing a slew of charges, including primary suspicion of attempted murder, after being arraigned in a Netherlands court on Tuesday (October 5) for the alleged stabbing of promoter Nicardo ‘Papa’ Blake.
Jah Cure, whose given name is Siccature Alcock, is also facing charges of attempted manslaughter, aggravated assault or attempted aggravated assault.
Reports emerging out of The Netherlands are that the examining judge has ordered that the 42-year-old be placed on remand for 14 days while the police investigation continues.
This means that the Prison Walls singer will remain in custody, without bail, in a detention centre in Amsterdam.
The Amsterdam police confirmed details of the incident, saying that 45-year-old Blake was stabbed last Friday (October 1) on the Dam Square in the city centre of Amsterdam.
The victim filed a report with local police and was later rushed to hospital where he underwent successful surgery.
Following the reports made to the Amsterdam police, a 42-year-old man was arrested on Saturday (October 2).
News of Jah Cure allegedly stabbing the promoter and owner of Roots Vibes Promotion was reported over the weekend.
VICTIM TIGHT-LIPPED
Blake confirmed the incident, sharing that he suffered a wound to the abdomen.
The promoter, however, is remaining tight-lipped on what erupted as a dispute between the two as investigations are still ongoing.
There has been no word from the reggae star or his camp.
Both Jah Cure and Blake have worked on many shows together in the past and seemed to have a great rapport with each other.
Jah Cure was in Amsterdam for a live performance at the Melkweg venue which was promoted by Roots Vibes Entertainment.
The show was one of many, with the Grammy-nominated artiste set to make his way around Europe on a three-month-long tour. The tour began in early August, with Jah Cure already making stops in Barcelona, Spain and Belgium.
