Jamaica has recorded 32 murders since start of 2023, a 56% drop compared to last year

A serious crimes report from the Jamaica Constabulary Force has revealed that Jamaica recorded 32 murders between January 1 and 14, 2023.

St James recorded the highest homicide rate with five murders, followed by Clarendon and Manchester with four murders each.

Westmoreland, St Catherine South and St Andrew North recorded three murders each.

Portland, St Ann, Trelawny, St Catherine North, St Andrew Central and Kingston Central did not record any murders during the period.

The police data revealed a 56 per cent decline in homicides compared to last year.
