Sade Adamolekun scored twice for Heart of Midlothian WFC (Hearts Women) on Sunday (August 25) in an eight-nil thrashing of Dundee United.
It was the Jamaican midfielder’s third brace of goals in four games since the start of the Scottish Women’s Premier League (SWPL) season, bringing her goal contributions to six goals and an assist.
Hearts Women have been flying high, winning three out of their first four games and scoring 25 goals in the process. With two clean sheets from those four matches, the club has only conceded three goals.
In the recent 8-0 win over Dundee, Adamolekun delivered the sixth and seventh goals of the game within six minutes of each other in the second half.

Latching on to a through ball in the 56th minute, the 23-year-old beat the onrushing goalkeeper and left her behind to enter the penalty area. There she eluded her defender by cutting to the left and firing the ball into the net.
In the 62nd minute the Reggae Girl was ready to do it all over again. She collected a lay-off from a teammate to her left at the edge of the penalty box. This time she beat two defenders in the box, one after the other, to send the ball between the goalkeeper and the near post and into the net.
This brace of goals showcased her ability to remain calm under pressure and use her skill to outmanoeuvre her opponents.

After impressing in her debut professional season in the 2023/24 campaign, Adamolekun seems intent on topping her accomplishments last term that saw her achieve 10 goals and four assists across all competitions — a total of 14 goal contributions. With only four games under her belt this season, she has already achieved half of that with her six goals and an assist.
In an interview with Our Today at the end of last season, Adamolekun clearly stated her ambition for this season.
“Overall, my primary objective is to continue to improve my game and improve under Coach Eva (Olid), while continuing to contribute as a game changer to the success of the club,” she said.
When Adamolekun extended her contract earlier this year until the summer of 2026, the Hearts Women’s head of recruitment, Sean Burt, was quoted on the club’s website as saying: “At 23, Sade is still very young. I believe with a full pre-season under her belt in the summer, she will really kick on next season and we’re very much looking forward to seeing her progress in a maroon shirt.”
That prediction seems to be ageing well so far.
Hearts Women’s fourth-place finish last season was a historic achievement, as they set new club records for points (54) and goals (68). In just four games, they’ve already scored more than a third of last season’s total goals, setting them up for a potentially even better performance in the current campaign.
The club currently sit fourth in the table with nine points, three behind leaders Rangers, second place Hibernian and third place Celtic who are all on 12 points.
They will next face Motherwell in an SWPL encounter on Sunday, September 9.
