Struggling Molynes United edged Vere Phoenix United 3-2 on Wednesday as the Wray and Nephew Jamaica Premier League resumed following a referee strike action last week.

The match played at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex, saw in-form Robino Gordon strike two early goals in the second and 10th minutes that propelled Vere United into a two-goal advantage.

But Molynes United fought back admirably as goals by Nickache Murray and Marlon Pennicooke and a stoppage time winner from veteran Jason Wright (90+1) completed the turn-around.

Molynes United, which was winning their seventh match from 27 games, gained a spot to be in 10th position on 26 points as they move clear of the relegation zone.

But it was another cruel day for Vere United as they suffered their 16th defeat of the season and sit second from bottom in 13th spot on 19 points and in grave danger of relegation.

Meanwhile, there will be six games on Thursday as leaders Mount Pleasant FA on 62 points tackle sixth-placed Waterhouse FC on 37 points at Drax Hall Sports Complex starting at 3:30 pm.

At the Effortville Community Centre, home team Humble Lion FC on at the bottom of the league on 18 points play a Tivoli Gardens team in eighth spot on 32 points at 3:30 pm.

In the clash of the former champions, third-placed Montego Bay United on 50 points take on 11th-placed Harbour View on 24 points at Catherine Hall Sports Complex at 6:00 pm.

In the St Catherine derby, Racing United on 34 points in seventh spot, meet ninth-placed Dunbeholden on 32 points in the first game at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex at 4:30 pm.

In the second game at 7:00 pm, Chapelton Maroons on 22 points in 12th spot face the might of the home team Arnett Gardens in second spot on 54 points.
