President of the People’s National Party Mark Golding outlined that the National Executive Council, at its meeting on Sunday, December 7, has endorsed several important organisational decisions.
To ensure that priority organisational projects receive the sustained attention they require, the party leadership has appointed Maureen Webber to serve as National Projects Director.
Webber is tasked with ensuring that certain specific initiatives are effectively and efficiently managed. The National Executive Council has endorsed this decision.
Additionally, the PNP states that the post of National Projects Director reports to the General Secretary, Dr Dayton Campbell, who continues to hold full responsibility for the administration and organisational affairs of the party.
In September, Comrade Wensworth Skeffery took a leave of absence from his duties as Deputy General Secretary, with a view to vacating all posts. He has also tendered his resignation as a Commissioner of the Electoral Commission of Jamaica, effective 31 December 2025.
“As Leader of the Opposition, and following the required consultation process, I have written to the Governor General nominating Ms Maureen Webber to serve as his replacement on the Electoral Commission of Jamaica, with effect from 1 January 2026,” Golding said.
Webber is a former Deputy General Secretary of the party, and most recently served as Technical Director of the party’s 2025 Election Campaign. She brings deep organisational experience, proven project leadership skills, and a strong record of service to the work ahead.
“Maureen Webber has earned the respect and confidence of the party through decades of committed service, strategic insight and effective leadership. Her appointment ensures that our national projects continue with discipline, efficiency and clarity of purpose. I have every confidence that she will bring acuity, fairness and professionalism to her new responsibilities, both within the party and at the Electoral Commission of Jamaica. I thank Comrade Skeffery for his years of diligent and dedicated service on the ECJ,” the Opposition Leader added.
Golding expressed that the People’s National Party remains focused on strengthening its organisational capacity, supporting communities in recovery, and advancing the work required to build a fairer, more resilient and more prosperous Jamaica for all.
