Dancehall artiste Silk Boss has clarified that the incident seen in a recent viral video happened due to a set up by his former friends and not what rumours claim.
Silk Boss revealed in an interview with Terra Don Ent yesterday (August 30), that the incident has nothing to do with anyone from Montego Bay, his dancehall rivalry with “Jashii”, nor any altercations arising from a refusal to traffic guns for any don.
Silk Boss, who is currently in Canada said the incident in the video showing him looking dishevelled and getting assaulted, took place in Jamaica approximately 1 month ago.
The ‘Gulf’ mentioned in the video refers to a community in Portmore, St Catherine where his girlfriend’s mother lives, not in Montego Bay as rumours claim, says the artiste.
He also denies paying any extortion money to prevent the video from leaking.
When addressing the rumour about the don, Silk Boss made no mention of gun trafficking as a point of discussion. He says that people he considered friends, without his knowledge or consent were creating promotional posters that advertised his musical performance at a show that he would not be in the country to attend.
The artiste believes that it was people he considered friends at the time who set him up to get robbed, he also claims that the reason the video got leaked is an attempt by the same individuals to tarnish his career and reputation since they no longer have access to him.
Silk Boss says right now his focus is on music and he is looking to move past the situation.
