Jamaican motorists and industries get a much-needed reprieve this week as State-owned refinery, Petrojam, unveils price cuts across the board come Thursday (June 29).

Petrojam, in its closely watched petroleum product price index, advised that 87-octane gasolene would cost J$3.62 less, opening at a baseline price of J$166.58.

The price revamp, consistent among all commodities on the Petrojam index, effectively ends four weeks of underwhelming, undulating updates.

Cost changes were arguably the most pronounced for kerosene, automotive diesel and its ultra-low-sulphur counterpart, which each fell J$4.50 respectively.

It is expected that retailers will add their mark-ups to the announced prices.
