Jamaican football wonderkid Dujuan Richards landed in Britain on Friday (January 27) ahead of a prospective signing with English Premier League (EPL) team Newcastle FC.

According to blog reports out of England, the 17-year-old’s two-week trial commences on February 6. Richards is expected to train with a highly competitive Under-21 squad under newly appointed manager Ben Dawson.

The Kingston College standout, who trains with Phoenix Academy, netted 29 goals during the former Manning Cup champion’s 2022 campaign.

Excitement is building for ‘The Magpies’, which currently sits third in the EPL title chase behind leaders Arsenal FC and Manchester City.

“Jamaican wonderkid Dujuan Richards has arrived in England ahead of a trial period at Newcastle United, which is set to begin on 6th February. The 17-year-old comes from the same Phoenix Academy as Aston Villa star Leon Bailey and could become the latest teenage sensation to sign, should he impress,” wrote NUFCblog.co.uk.

Seemingly in confirmation on Friday, Richards shared in an Instagram story geotagging a terminal in London’s bustling Heathrow International Airport.

The towering athlete, known as ‘Whisper’ within the schoolboy football sphere, also posted to his over 22,000 fans that he had departed the island.
