Mere moments after the Jamaican women secured their first title in 17 years, the men were beaten in the 4x100m final at the Tokyo Olympic Games in Japan on Friday (August 6).

In Jamaica’s first Olympic defeat since Usain Bolt’s retirement, the quartet of Jhevaughn Minzie, Julian Forte, Yohan Blake and Olbique Seville finished fifth in 37.84 seconds.

All the glory went to Italy, spurred on by Olympic 100m champion Marcell Jacobs, whose impressive team finished in a national record 37.50s to claim the gold medal.

Great Britain and Canada finished second and third respectively in 37.51s and 37.70s for silver and bronze.
